Bangkok Sightseeing

Hi everyone, well there are lots of places to see in Bangkok, i could be here forever listing them, but here are just a few that i have enjoyed.

The Golden Palace - The Golden Palace is a complex of buildings which has been the official residence of the Kings of Thailand since the 18th century. It is situated on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, and is an easy walk from the Khao San Road. I managed to get an excellent massage in the grounds. There are some beautiful buildings to look at, but ladies remember to wear appropriate clothing as short skirts and beach attire are not allowed. Also you will get pestered by Tuk Tuk drivers trying to take you to gem shops - DON'T GO!!! Its a scam.

Queen Saovabha Memorial Institute (Snake Farm) - Not to everyone's taste, but i really enjoyed it, you get the chance to look around in side, lots of snakes behind glass, plus interactive video's to learn more. Then there is a show at the end where they bring out various snakes, some very dangerous, some completely safe! The show is presented well and with good humour.

More to come next time!!
